Hello, and thank you for visiting this website! I, Avery Scott, am a young birder from Long Island, NY.

I kind of started this blog on a whim, when I first got into birding and had no friends who enjoyed birds as much as I did. I started  a blog and asked random people I knew to send in pictures and descriptions of birds they'd seen, and I would identify them. I put up one or two identifications and then promptly forgot all about it.

A year later, I accidentally re-discovered the blog. In the that year, my birding obsession had become much stronger, my skills much sharper and I actually knew people who were good birders. I cleared off the old posts, gave the blog a new title and started posting trip reports of my frequent birding expeditions.

I now post every time I go birding, and sometimes other time too, such as announcements about the Great Backyard Bird Count or other things of that sort. I have become very serious about this blog, maybe as serious as I am about birding itself.
